Extract from Greg Potter’s (President) speech at the 2016 SSL end of year dinner: The 2016 SSL flying season has come to an end with a sweet victory in the Midway Cup – an Open Thermal competition between SA and Victoria. After being beaten twice we finally triumphed at Horsham a few weeks ago in a very closely fought event. SSL members placed 1st, 3rd and 5th to gain 100+ points more (out of 36,000) than the 3 Victorians who placed 2nd, 4th and 6th. We also outnumbered them 2 to 1 with 14 flyers from SA to 7 from Victoria. The cup will spend 8 months at the Modelflight warehouse (Jamie was 1st and Mike 5th) and 4 months
