End of Year Report and Class Winners!

Extract from Greg Potter’s (President) speech at the 2016 SSL end of year dinner: The 2016 SSL flying season has come to an end with a sweet victory in the Midway Cup – an Open Thermal competition between SA and Victoria. After being beaten twice we finally triumphed at Horsham a few weeks ago in a very closely fought event. SSL members placed 1st, 3rd and 5th to gain 100+ points more (out of 36,000) than the 3 Victorians who placed 2nd, 4th and 6th. We also outnumbered them 2 to 1 with 14 flyers from SA to 7 from Victoria. The cup will spend 8 months at the Modelflight warehouse (Jamie was 1st and Mike 5th) and 4 months

Open Thermal and Open F5J Results (April)

Congrats to Jamie and Trevor winning Open Thermal and Open F5J respectively. It was quite windy at Milang especially after lunch.  Very difficult conditions to read and make the best of with thermals few and far between. An excellent turnout with 17 flyers in Open Thermal and 11 in Open F5J.
